I'm conducting a study with Imidacloprid (C9H10ClN5O2) in waters and it's important to know if it's photodegraded by light or not.
Hi Daniel,
see for example Wamhoff and Schneider (1999) Photodegradation of Imidacloprid. J. Agric. Food Chem., 1999, 47 (4), pp 1730–1734 (DOI: 10.1021/jf980820j)
Best regards,
Daniel
It does have several double bonds and a benzene ring. Having said that there is a chance of absorbing Uv and Vis light.
You can just scan a sample using UV Vis and see whether there is a peak and significant absorption.
That will let you what wavelengths to be avoided when you do your analysis.
Good luck
I am developing a work on HPLC with imidacloprid in waters where I also do the validation of the method. In the concentration of the lowest standard (0.50 ug/mL) the values in the evaluation of...
