Very often we see" Journal of Development and Governance, Institute of Governance and Development, Center for Governance and Development, Institute of Governance Studies etc. Actually, which one is first and which is responsible for what?
I would really claim that both feeds into each other. No governance is achieved in a country that lacks development aspects like education, health, and inequality. As well, No real progress can be attained in fulfilling adequate levels of education, health, equality, freedom without appropriate governance.
Although governance and development are not mutually exclusive, governance by definition (being participation of stakeholders in decision making on matters of public concern) will shape development (aspects pertaining to the human well-being). Therefore, my view is that governance should be put first at any given level of human development, if sustainable development has to be fostered.
