Several of the most successful architects have been associated with maxims like Mies- less is more. Several have also been architectural theorists or teachers with schools of thought such as Gropius, Wright, Venturi, Koolhaus... Is there a relationship between architectural movements and viable architectural practice? (Philip Johnson's firm is still in existence and very successful)

Design thinking will work like a magic band in any process. So, design philosophy can have a good bearing on architecture too. Though soft philosophies like, design thinking are time consuming in nature to be absorbed in any profession, still, the success lies in how dynamically we implement the philosophy.
