Often the teaching methodologies and technology may seems to be perfect, but this does not reflect in students having best learning experience nor achieving the best learning outcomes and mastering the course subject matter.
this is a very interesting question. In my opinion, teaching quality matters a lot. Likewise, the students‘ motivation and commitment matter. Whether someone has a good learning experience certainly depends on many other aspects, e.g. mood, health, etc.
I share the same with Rainer that best learning experience depends on many elements, some connected to the student behavior, while others linked to the learning environment and the institution where they are enrolled. We might say it is probable that the best teaching quality would result in a student's best learning experience. However, student's commitment to master the course subject matter and other many student behaviors have their own influence.
Agree, plus the today's generation of CyberNomand type of students is quite different from my generation. We used take notes and write everything on paper while highlighting the important concepts with colored pen. In addition, I used to rewrite and enhance my notes while learning. I am pleased to say that there still many very bright and well motivated students who take their own notes and do rigorous studies at home and in the library. Teacher's motivation. and student's passion to master the subject are essential in the exciting venue of exploration and discoveries.
