Hi everyone, I would be appreciative if you could give your suggestion on my goal:

My goal is : To determine the factors that can predict Anxiety disorder(AD) and Quality of life(QOL) in the study population.

I have 11 potential predictors and one confounding variable; I collected data using the Likert scale; AD (with 5 subclass) and QOL(with 4 subclass) , they both AD and QOL are continuous variables.

I am thinking to apply backward elimination with a stopping criterion of α=0.157 (corresponding to AIC selection), Am I correct?
