I am trying to using the furnace with scale for determination of soil organic matter. The furnace have a software for documentation of the temperature curve and combustion loss using a PC. In my experiment, the sample was heated at 500℃ for 12h. How can I explain the sample weight gain on ignition especially on the constant temperature stage?
I would say that there was a mistake. I think there is no way for gaining weight during a combustion... Did you try again the same experiment? Or, are you sure you are reading the graph in the right way?
what the nature of your sample? your experience is in air or in controlled atmosphere?

look composition of your sample, it may contain compounds (eg iron...) which can be oxidized at 600 °C (reaction with air oxygen), oxidation is a weight gain !!
silica can oxidize but at higher temperature ( from 800 °C)

But still I am confused with the result. When the furnace was heated up to the isothermal stage , no matter at 105℃ or 400℃，600℃，the weight loss was the most, and then there was an apparent weight gain. Any other factors can produce this results?
