I'm currently looking for a Research Assitant position in US and/or UK in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering , for achieving an MSc/PhD degree, however I'm still very unfamilliar with the typical procedures and forms to be filled for putting up with Research Assistant position.

Hi Jorcy. The requirements and definition of a research assistant role are usually institute and post specific. I was appointed a research assistant (in electrical engineering) in a UK university based on my undergraduate degree qualifications. I obtained an MSc degree during this RA appointment by completing additional academic taught courses and submitting my research outcomes as a dissertation. This was quite difficult, as the additional courses and dissertation writing were external to the RA post, and so had to be done in my free time. To obtain a PhD during an RA post is rarer and more challenging though probably not impossible, however you should consider that the RA post is funded for enough time for you to complete a PhD.
