Which would be the most commonly used Channel Equalization techniques for Satellite Links (regardless of the Medium Acess Schemes used, SCPC, DVB-S, DVB-RCS, etc .... ) which are publicly known/available ? Here i'm also considering both linear and non-linear techniques and algorithms.
Normally for satellite links Matched filters are used as equalizers.
Predistortion at the modulator and / or adaptive equalization at the demodulator are equalization techniques traditionally considered for satellite links. They rely on digital signal processing algorithms implemented in the earth stations, at Tx and / or Rx.
As an alternative, we have recently proposed a different solution based on analog linear equalization implemented on the RF channel filters of the satellite transponder.

I think non-linear equalizers should also be kept in mind as they perform better than linear equalizers, in most cases.
