As far as I am concerned ABAQUS considers viscosity effect on stress wave propagation in ABAQUS/Explicit by defining two parameters such as linear and quadratic bulk viscosity. By increasing viscosity, we get smooth stress propagation, but with energy dissipation. However, I am looking for a way to switch off viscosity effect and compare the results with analytical method in which pure elasticity is considered without any viscousity. Kindly let me know if you have any idea, Thanks in advance.
You can make both linear and bulk viscosity zero from edit step (see attached picture)

the step- pulse propagation shown in your plot, if i am right, looks pretty good, especially if it corresponds to the zero viscosities. In a situation like yours, I can only recommend signal filtration to suppress higher frequencies. Abaqus has several filters. I have found out that the Butterworth filter accessible at the visualisation mode works better than the same filter accessible at CAE, so try Butterworth filter and note that the cut off frequency in Abaqus should be in Hz, and not in rad/s.

Thanks for your reply, I used Butterworth filter and I got the attached results. However, I think the results still don't look in a good shape. Kindly let me know what value for cut off frequency should be used. Also, please let me know the taken step time if I only stick to the filters available in the visualization module. In fact, the problem is ABAQUS cannot take cutoff frequency more than a limited value, because of that a good result cannot be provided. Thanks in advance.
