I found it with a phytoplankton net in the Oslo fjord, right near the shore. It's quite small compared to most of the Daphnia I've seen. About the size of a large (or two tiny) Ceratium longipes (using them as measure because they were in the same sample.)
this unusual view is caused by ventral compresion, otherwise the typical shape of body with two big antennas and big cladoceran eye is more than typical
It is Penilia avirostris, common nowadays on the Swedish west coast, Skagerrak area. No wonder if found it in Oslofjörden.
Bosmina is a typical and small freshwater cladoceran, only B. coregoni is able to survive in brackish waters but not in fully marine waters. Look at attached picture to see the anatomical differences between Penilia and Bosmina.
It is hard to say because the carapace is open. But, I would go with Penilia aviostris too.
It is Penilia avirostris, a male specimen, because of long movable antennules, which are short in females.

I agree, it is Penilia avirostris, a warm-water marine cladocera that it is extending its habitat further north. Check for instance, Johns et al. 2005

For sure it is Penilia avirostris, a marine cladoceran. Note the typical serrated carapace border.
