Does anyone know what exactly is the difference between "trait mediated indirect effects" and "trait mediated indirect interactions"?

Trait Mediated Indirect Effects (TMIE) vs. Trait Mediated Indirect Interactions (TMII).

The literature uses these terms interchangeably, which angered Peter Abrams in his 2007 Ecology paper, where he tries to set things straight. I don't think the research community has responded how he was hoping, but I do think his paper offers some very accessible clarity on the topic.
