I have students looking at parasites on bats in Xishuangbanna (Tropical South China) and we have captured two Rhinolophids with what look like large botflies near the base of the ear (three on one, one on the other). The body is very solid, and we could not remove them without damage to the bat, but we can't find any references in the literature and would appreciate any information.
Of the 67 bats captured in the last two nights the botflies were only found on Rhinolophus affinis, despite capturing other Rhinolophids, Hipposiderids, and many Vespertilionids
