I want to know of similar efforts in other places of the world. Mr. Lawton's work should be replicated across the globe. His focus on creative, sustainable, low energy solutions certainly deserves more attention.

Yes, there are hundreds of farms around the world that incorporate permaculture design into their work and production. Many thousands (millions?) of other farmers use very ecological practices with necessarily using the term "permaculture."
At its core, permaculture is about design and about finding solutions that work for the unique conditions of each site. So the details are often different, depending on the ecological and social context. There are dozens, or more, farms in the U.S. that utilize permaculture and provide trainings in permaculture design. Below are links for a few, there are many others:
