We are reviewing the taxonomy of the Giant Forest Hog and it appears that the eastern populations in Kenya, Ethiopia, and possibly also Sudan are distinct. The differences are clearly not clinal. Does anyone know of any specimens, especially from Sudan and Ethiopia outside the collections of Tervuren, Paris, Dakar, AMNH, BMNH, Berlin, and Powell-Cotton. We would like to measure some specimens (skulls) or work with people who can measure them for us.

regrettably, it seems that no Ethiopian Hylochoerus never reached Italian museums. But I never do a specific research especially among the smaller museums.
