There seems to be evidence for a brief North-South American connection during the latest Cretaceous/earliest Paleocene from other vertebrate groups as well. During the latest Cretaceous, hadrosaurs and ankylosaurs abruptly show up in South America, whereas titanosaurs make their way into the southern part of North America. At the same time, among Cenozoic groups, the types of "condylarth" ungulates one sees in Paleocene North and South America are very similar, to the point that some have regarded them as belonging to the same group.
