Adaptation to climate impacts (flood, drought, species die off, fisheries, forests, food production, livestock) are sought.
Unit of measure can be community level or higher.
Studies could be cause and effect oriented; i.e. action from one side of border caused effect on the other side of the border.
Use of indigenous knowledge methodologies welcomed.

A challenge I am mulling over related to the question I posted is regarding the use of a methodology that is flexible enough to capture different types of climate change adaptation along the lines of livelihood indicators, which for indigenous are just as often not monetized, but also structured enough for comparative studies. That requirement is necessary for carrying out a similar treatment in both places for both social groups. How to look and the local livelihood approaches reliant on local natural resources and compare the degrees of loss (impact at family or community level) to those strategies, and the incumbent degree of climate change, is what I hope to find.
Given that many indigenous communities use a variety of livelihood strategies, some regulated by seasonal crops, fisheries, and or forest products, and the variation in a great variation in available labor, and some livelihood strategies do not, I think it is hard to capture the shifting/re-balancing among the livelihood strategies as a response to climate impacts. For a few families this can be captured with in depth study; but a the community, municipal, or larger scale, it is complex.
I am aware of the mainstream development livelihood approaches that even measure food production as an indicator, but as a single static measure (along with "poverty" ), I think that singular approach does not represent the more nuanced picture that indigenous communities face.
If someone has thoughts along those lines, I am also interested in such methodologies. . .
I have a draft of a tool to measure impacts within these domains:
1. Environmental & physical resources;
2. Social, cultural, and political;
3. Human financial.
In the case of CC impacts the changes to the enviro./physical resources affects the human and financial domain in terms of livelihood activities. The social, cultural, and political practices domain constitute the social rhealm that communities are comprised of. I have included degrees of migration and remittance transfers as an indicator for mobility and community social cohesion in terms of community vs family unit decision making within the social-cultural-political domain.
All ideas are welcomed. SE Asia in the Mekong Delta Region, Bangladesh, African sub-regions, and Nepal come to mind as possible areas. Given that Asia does not on an official level often identify indigenous peoples, but rather as minorities of traditional societies, studies from those areas and communities are also of interest.
