The process of biological nitrogen fixation by Rhizobia takes place in specialized structures formed on the roots of legumes, called nodules. Based on their shapes and growth paterns, they are divided into determinate and indeterminate nodules formed by different species of Rhizobia.
If you are referring to determinate vs indeterminate bacteroids (not nodules), yes there seems to be diferences in efficiency of nitrogen fixation. The determinate bacteriod development have higher efficiency than the indeterminate once.

I am not sure this comparison is possible, since, as far as I understand nodule type see Russelle (2008) as an example, nodule type is determined by the plant species, and thus any efficiency difference can´t be ascribed only to the rhizobia.

Types of nodules determinate vs indeterminate depends upon legume species (plant) not rhizobia, however infection zone with interstitial cells have more effective then others. see sprent -2001. nodulation in legumes.
Yes and the rhizobia is responsible for nitrogen-fixation. So, it is not fair to make such comparison.
