I am currently working on Depth Estimation (Distance from Camera to the Object in Meters) of Light Field cameras. I have found a solution for finding the Disparity Map.

According to my understanding on stereo correspondence , disparities are the differences in x-coordinates of corresponding  points viewed in the left and right cameras. In case of Light Field cameras we have to consider disparities in between phase shifted Sub Aperture images with center image as reference.

In general with respect to stereo algorithms, with the knowledge of geometric arrangements of cameras we can estimate the distance from disparity map by triangulation process which yields Depth map.

Can someone tell me how to determine the absolute distance in meters to an object from light field camera (Lytro Illum) ?

Many thanks in advance.
