I am trying to reprocess SPECT ictal and Interictal images that were acquired on a Philips ADAC camera in 2009. I need to convert these images to a DICOM for the purpose of doing a SISCOM analysis. I would love to hear from anyone who has been able to save or reprocess images from an ADAC camera using current DICOM compliant systems.

May I know which program you are using for reading the DICOM image of this device? Because from your question what I understand is, already you have opened the DICOM files and you have processed it already. Using the third party
libraries is better solution as they provide both reading and writing support of DICOM. In this sense, 3D slicer, Matlab and ITK are good choices. To make sure that your DICOM processing is correct and writing to DICOM is correct, after writing to the .dcm or .ima format, you can load the processed images in the non clinical version of DICOM viewers available in internet such as syngoFastView from SIEMENS and DicomViewer from Philips.
And also it is necerray to check that the libraries of 3D slicer, Matlab and ITK supports opening the older version of DICOM as ADAC camera is pretty old (even though its latest versions are available through Philips) and you are using images acquired in 2009. Older version compatibility is the
biggest headache in medical imaging.

you should try to render through image J the data, cause Adac or Phillips in general has a specific dicom.
In our service, when we received MRI phillips data we try with descompress the info we select the general files and our program can read it.

You might find 3rd party programs such as OsiriX, PMod, mipav, Mango or Image J useful, as they can read in the Interfile produced by the ADAC camera. From there you can output the data in DICOM compliant format which should be acceptable to SISCOM

Thanks Jim, I will give it a try in ImageJ and see whether I can convert to DICOM for reprocessing elsewhere.
