Hi I want to make a map to make more clear information regarding to my study area and the studied animals population, Also I may add information like disease prevalence and other epidemiological data. Does anyone know how can I do that? Is there any free software? Can I make that online? I attach one map that i want to know how to make.

First of all are all your data geocoded? by geocoded means that your information regarding the population, disease prevalence and epidemiological data are linked with geographical positions and whether those positions can be linked clearly with each other (in terms of scale or level). If they are then yes you can develop such map and spatial analysis.
All you need is a GIS software. The popular (but not free) ones are ArcMap or MapInfo, they are very easy to use and most likely they will be equipped with the basic topographic map of your study area and spatial analytical functions that might relevant to your study such as clustering, density analysis or hot-spot analysis. There are some free software out there, just google 'free-gis' or 'free mapping software'. However, the first thing is to make sure that your data is properly geocoded.

Try Q-GIS it free, powerful, and somewhat easy to learn if you already know GIS. Look into techniques like cluster analysis, Hot spot analysis.

There are No. of Open Source GIS soft wares. You can use ARC-Gis.

What you need are mainly 3 things:
1. Software: Im not agree with some answers. Of course there is free GIS software. Im doing my Ph.D. with one of those softwares (gvSIG). Anyway, from my experience I recommend you gvSIG (TRANSLATED TO LOTS OF LANGUAGES) or QGIS too, both are very good. I leave you here the links to both sites where you can download them and try.

2. Layers of geographical information of your area. I dont know where is your investigation located. Search in local governments websites and or general ones like this: http://freegisdata.rtwilson.com/. You should seach for shapefiles or WMS services.
After having all of this, you should DO this:
3. Your particular investigation information into a georreferenced layer.

Paromita, u need a topographic map of your area..may be a toposheet, GIS softwares (ArcMAP/ QGIS) and spatial information of disease (localities/ landmarks/ GPS points)
