We are producing magnetic Fe(III) (Salen)2 di-nuclear complexes in a milligram level. We have been used an air-free condition (N2 atmosphere) through all the processes to avoid any oxidation issues to maintain the magnetism. However, the products get lost their magnetic property when it is produced in larger batch production (> 1 g). Any type of suggestions or comments will be very appreciated !
I think the oxidation process will still be progressed in a large volume of materials follow the atmospheric nitrogen just very little in quantity and low pressure so that the water-soluble oxygen cannot be removed. Do not expose the reaction system with nitrogen just through the surface, but the nitrogen flow until the bottom of the reaction system with proper pressure will be better.
