Effects on the responce of an Infilled RC structure (local or/and global) in case of placing horizontal zones of lightly-reinforced concrete in the middle height or near the top of the infill masonry wall, when subjected to seismic action.

PEER has two comprehensive reports regarding to RC frames with masonry infills. Just google "PEER, infill wall". However, considered infill walls were mainly of unreinforced masonry.

My question was referring to the case of UnReinforced Masonry infill walls and not to the reinforced ones indeed (i have already seen the PEER's reports) but including a technique that is very commonly used in some countries, especially in cases of double leaf infill walls: in the middle height or maybe at a location near to the top of the infill it is placed a lightly reinforced concrete horizontal zone of height ~10-20cm. and of width as the total width of the infill wall (2*t + the gap between them) in order to connect the two leafs. This concrete zone causes some local effects to the attached columns of the frame.
I am interested for this kind of infills if there is any investigation (experimental or whatever) on the behaviour of them (in conjuction with the behaviour of the whole surrounding frame).
