hi, no i have not any information about your question, I hear the first time that such a thing. If anyone has information on this case, please do Notification
If not, please see: ZIEGELMANN et al., 2013. The mating behavior of Varroa destructor is triggered by a female sex pheromone. Part 2: Identification and dose-dependent effects of components of the Varroa sex pheromone. Apidologie DOI: 10.1007/s13592-013-0198-5
Bettina in her research studied the mating behaviour and the substances involved in triggering the mating behaviour. It's an absolutely interesting and important research - but it is still no treatment that could be used in practice. And she isn't absolutely propagating oleic acid for varroa treatment. There are several good methods for Varroa treatments, please do not try something that isn't absolutely tested and - IMPORTANT - not registered. The best way of killing your bees is just trying things you don't know if they work.
Ms. Garrido: I thank you for your concern; my curiosity was piqued by a 15 sec. sound-bite in a German science program and I wished to learn more... (but I must confess, that the "nucleus" of a possible treatment is being considered even as I write this... :) ). I found your publications most enlightening as well.
