As in, using mechanical work to generate electrical power by the piezoelectric effect?
Mmm.
For large scale power generation I am sure you appreciate that the piezo effect for most (all?) known materials is too small to develop meaningful power - terribly small currents are achievable,
What is your intended field for such generators?
If you are looking at somewhat smaller-scale (parasitic generation from mechanical vibration) or perhaps even inter-corporeal for powering medical devices, then there are groups on those areas.
In general, a system that can alter its resonant frequency (self-tuning) will be more adaptive and efficient than one which has a broad bandwidth but a low Q. I'm guessing that you're looking at SHOs with some kind of energy pick-up (perhaps by a coil and magnet arrangement).
