My research is looking at the influence of creative design and technical standards on the development of architecture during a period of history. This has relevance to the modern day in terms of a range of frameworks that currently govern us from health and safety to professional ethos.

I think aesthetics standards in modernity in building structures were explored by Frei Otto, Pier Luigi Nervi, and Buckminster Fuller mixing creativity, technology, materials use, meaning a challenge for the future of architecture and engineering.
Thanks to Karl Pfeifer and Cesar Velandia Silva for your answers. The period I'm looking at is early 'modern' architecture in Belgium and Northern France and linked European cities 1872-1914. It covers rationalism as championed by Viollet-le-Duc/Taine, Art Nouveau and its associated genres, as well as early use of iron and steel framing and reinforced concrete. Significant actors include: the leading AN architects in Brussels, Paris and Nancy; the Perret Brothers; the Cubists and Purists; young Le Corbusier etc
Ok Nick. I understand. I see a transcendental relation with aesthetics and technology, with Nederlands neighbors during DeStijl period. Die fabrik aesthetic impulsed by Peter Behrens in Deutscher Werkbund, clearly influenced this early modern architecture also in the school of Van de Velde, Van Doesburg, Van Eesteren, Oud, and Rietveld.
