First for amphibians - I would not consider 1km as small scale!
The exact methodology depends on the species and the habitat,
My advice is to link up with Amphibian Survival Alliance and the IUCN SSC Amphibian Specialist Group ASG. They have a sub-committee on survey and monitoring at the following site:
Hi Diego, you could contact directly on research gate Antonio Romano, Marco Basile or Andrea Costa. We have worked together on similar issues and I'm sure they could provide you with useful suggestions for both field sampling and occupancy experiments. Regards, Mario
I agree that 1km scale is not small scale for amphibians. Methods for field surveys and analyses will depend on your objectives, study species, and habitat type. This is a great resource if you find a copy:
Do you need to calculate densitis for different habitats? If yes, than just use DISTANCE as it is very simple software. If you need any advance models than you should give more detaill what yiu had in mind.
