You may have a difficult time depositing silanes onto non-silica surfaces. May I suggest functionalizing your iron oxide nanoparticles via diazonium salts. There are a variety of papers out there that use this method with success. In particular I found this paper that uses diazonium salts to amine terminate iron oxide particles, they also site a few other procedures that may be beneficial to you.
Do you just need Amino termination, or do you specifically need a silane cross linker? If you just want amino termination then you might want to try direct functionalisation with an amino acid or peptide that will bond via surface oxide groups on your particles. We recently functionalised ceria with Histidine, but there should also be plenty of literature available on other metal oxides like titania.
