Never use a Ag/AgCl reference electrode in alkaline solution (the frit will be clogged by Ag2O precipitate).

Standard condition depends on what experiment you want to do.

Temperature : 25 deg C

Electrolyte: Acid electrolytes (1 M H2SO4, HClO4 etc.) or other molar concentration

Basic electrolyte: (0.1 M KOH, NaOH) and other concentartion

Potential window: 0 V to 1 V (vs. RHE)

In acid electrolyte : -0.2 V to .8 V (vs. Ag/AgCl)

In alkaline electrolyte: -1.2 V to 0.2 V (Vs. Ag/AgCl)

I agree with the rest. Probably I would start as Cornel with 1mM ferro/ferricyanide. It is a very common redox probe. Also ferrocene (mono carboxylic acid or methanol since it is not very soluble). They give a nice electrochemical process. Electrolyte: KCl but it also gives nice process in 0.1M buffer solutions (e.g. PB pH 7) or acid media.

Remember to polish and wash GC electrode properly to obtain good responses!

I would suggest to perform your CV in ferrocyanide containing 0.1 KCl (Scan rate: 100 mV/s).

Then support the result obtained with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) (also performed in the same solution).

You probably can investigate the conductivity of your electrodes by getting charge transfer resistance (Rct) value.

Besides, you also can evaluate electron transfer process that occur at interfacial by getting electron transfer apparent rate constatn (kapps) value.
