Looking to import .acq files collected using the data acquisition system (BIOPAC) which stores files I am looking to see if anyone has written an R script to import these files? I know it is possible to export .acq files as .txt files, but I'd like to eliminate that requirement if possible.

I did something along this line in labview quite some time ago. The .acq file structure is very clear, so it should not be too difficult to write a script in R to do it...just not the most exciting thing to do though, i understand. But, to answer your question, nope, i don't have an R script to do that. sorry
Thanks Matteo. I have multiple matlab scripts that do this, but no R script and don't want to invest time writing it out if someone already has one that is open source! Thanks for the insights.

Let me know if you can't find anything. I have an R package to read ExpeData files, which are likewise binary with a header/data/footer structure. While it does not help you immediately with the .acq, it could provide a little bit of bootstrapping if you do have to develop your own from scratch.
Thanks Thomas! Well, I'll likely write my own and DATAQ publicize their header structure so it's not like I can't figure it out or reverse engineer one of the many matlab scripts out there.

Sorry Mikkel, I did not get around to doing this. I decided to export the data to txt first and then import into R that way.
