I have approximately 160 UV-Vis spectra collected on an Agilent UV-Vis which are saved in an SD file (which seems to be proprietary). Does anyone have experience translating blocks of data in these files into a useful CSV (or other spread sheet readable) format?
I am aware that after collecting each one, these can be exported one by one, however, it will be nearly impossible to do this as many are nearly the same so selecting each one is non-trivial.
(I just added an example file7/3/2016). Not sure if it shows up.

I have some information from Agilent, which I have tried to upload as a PDF. However, I was not able to get this to work.
They have since indicated there is a "there’s a known bug in the current software that only allows a maximum of 9 spectra to be exported in this way."
If you want to export more than 9 it may be difficult.
"We have batch export, but sorry, only 9 files at once" Haha, great feature!
Think I will include Agilent *.sd files for the next version of Spekwin32, but reverse-engineerng unknown binary files takes time, so unfortunately there is no quick fix...
Have finally got it to work. To export, follow the instructions in this updated file. If you have a lot of spectra (in my case 180), be prepared to leave for a few hours before coming back. It took 30 sec to a minute for each one. I've done enough programming in my day to find this a bit crazy. I have no idea what it could be doing that requires that much time.
In the document the figures give a somewhat different view that appear in our version.

Half a year later, my new spectroscopy software Spectragryph just released, still no reading of Agilent's *.sd files. Why? I NEED SAMPLE FILES...
That is: a couple of the original binary files plus the same data exported into a readable ASCII format....
How could I open the *.sd file from Home, I need to work on the spectra and data from Home? Any help will be appreciated?
Hi folks, the Spectragryph optical spectroscopy software is now able to open HP/ Agilent 8453 *.sd and *.kd files. It works with both single spectrum files and multi spectrum files. No more self-torturing with lengthy export procedures...

@Frank:if you only need to convert a bunch of old files, you could download the fully functional trial version. it will work for at least 42 days. Enough time for converting zillions of spectra. If there is a permanent need, please think about the time saved when using Spectragryph. Not to speak of the life-time license with all future updates included...
