I am working on nanoemulsion loaded with a kind of drug and also I want to apply it to the skin of mice. First of all, I want to shave the area and then put or rub the formulation on it.
But, I don't have any idea to make a formulation. Should I apply the pure nanoemulsion or make a dilution with pure water?
How should I write the procedure?
I think if you wanna make a topical formulation, for skin delivery these are the factors that you should consider.
you should research on making your formulation adhesive, and penetrating at the same time.

Next if you are targeting infections, you should focus on clinical samples and ensure use of quantities that constitue active infections.
You need to optimize your formulation in such a way that sticks, and stays on the skin and it penetrate through SC, and moves into the dermis for local action. It is important to consider the size in this case, as the size is approx 50-70 nm for skin applications so your nanoformulation should either be of this range of deformable.
