We are esp. interested in isolating HDL from small volumes (1-2ml) of plasma, preferably by ultracentrifugation. We have tried protocolls but they are giving us trouble and don´t seem to work properly. Thanks!
Vincent, do you have any experience with the hapless polycarbonate tubes in the TLA 120.2 rotor that are described in that paper?
I have tried out a very similar protocol with those tubes and if not all of the rotor slots are filled, the tubes seem to leak (they are filled with 1 ml and after 2h of 120000rpm there is about 800µl left and spillage in the empty slots). So far, I have found nothing about that online. It seems to be less when all of the rotor slots are filled. or maybe its just even then and not as easily noticeable.
