I'm trying to show some activation of the unfolded protein response(UPR) in NK cells.

Therefore I'm performing a Western blot analysis using anti-IRE1 (phospho S724) antibody by Abcam with predicted molecular weight 110 kDa....but I got a strong signal in the area between 20-28 kDa in two blots in a row from two different protein samples.

Usually I'm making the blocking step with 5% BSA or 5% skim milk.

I didn't have this problem with anti-XBP1 antibody from the same company.

If anyone have any suggestions why this problem appears or got some advice it'll be greatly appreciated.

I'm attaching a picture from one of the blots for whoever is interested
