We have spurious signal from empty sphere. We use sphere covered with Spectralon ( G8 or Quanta Phi). It seems that this sphere was contaminated. But we never used it before and it is brand new. I would like to communicate with somebody who do such measurements personally. I have some questions regarding measurement procedure.

I've used a system that seems similar to the one that you've described. I've used the procedure that is explained in the integrating sphere manual and I've also used the method described by "de Melo". But I've never try to measure with calibration samples.

Thank you very much. We started with calibration samples and results were unsatisfactory. We wrote a program based on de Melos method, because original program, supported with sphere operates with calibration file, and this file seems to be invalid.

Ours came with the calibration files, for liquid and for solid samples, because the geometry of measurement it's diferent. Perhaps, you should contact Horiba about that. Did your results with the de Melo method were satisfactory?

Unfortunately, both of our spheres are relatively old, and one of them (G8 from GMP, Switzerland) were supplied without calibration and software at all. Our Horiba support team could not fix problem with old fashion Quana Phi ( without fiber optics) , and for G8 sphere we made calibration by ourselves with calibration light source. First results with G8 sphere and de Melo method were more or less acceptable , but they are not reproducible.
