Recently, I experienced two cases of heart failure presenting with remarked wall thickening of gall bladder detected by ultrasonography. One case is a 83-year-old male visited our hospital with dyspnea. His condition turned out to be flash pulmonary edema resulted from severe hypertension. The other case is a 25-year-old female with dilated cardiomyopathy. It is intriguing that her initial complaint was right upper abdominal pain. From these experiences, I learned that gall bladder wall thickening may take place besides cholecystitis. Does everybody know the mechanism of gall bladder wall thickening in the case of heart failure?
