Taxonomies are wide spread for the field of biology, genetics and chemistry. Mostly in the the "obo" or "owl" format. The combined field of biotechnology, cell biology , production technologies is an open field for taxonomists. These taxonomies could be helpful for "controlled vocabularies" and semantic web search tools, and exploratory search as well, inside and outside of the Biotech Industry

Agree with Sezer Okay.We can identify the taxonomic position of organism by phenotypic or genotypic characteristics. Regarding taxonomy of industrially important organisms you need to identify the particular product and process specific organism.

I am looking for a taxonomy of industrial biotechnology: differentiating the technical terms of industrial production processes; e.g. bioreactor, types of stirrers, processtypes like split batch, continous culture, seed train, and the relevant terms the biology like protein secretion, growth, culture media etc.

Sir I think you are talking about Industrial Microbiology and Bioprocess technology. Both these branch include different fermentation product, fermentation process, bioreactor type, design and also upstream and down stream processes.
