We want to do a survey among some Iranian students in high schools to clarify the prevalence and the other characteristics of their sexual behaviors, but due to cultural issues it is almost impossible to do a direct survey.
I suppose, from my knowledge and experience, that indirect methods do exist for assessing their sexual behavior and preference. That depends on regarding what sexual behavior or preference you want to focus on. For eg. if we try to look into the sexual behavior, we can administer unanimous online questionnaire to the teenagers, or suppose we try to know the type of movies seen by the teenagers as proxy... or say the type of channel contents seen by the child's house (purely proxy)... more answers really exist on the research question..
Peer groups - may be helpful to know the practices in the school such as interaction of female and male students or vise versa, utilization of some materials such as condom availability and utilization by students, peer pressures and their status, the interaction of students and teachers etc
