Coagulation-flocculation and flotation processes were evaluated for the pre-treatment of hospital wastewater, including the removal of pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs). Coagulation-flocculation assays were performed in a Jar-Test device and in a continuous pilot-scale plant. Raw hospital wastewater as well as the effluent from the continuous coagulation plant were treated in a flotation cell. Pharmaceuticals have been discovered by numerous studies to be entering streams and waterways from WWTP effluent The majority of WWTPs receive influent from residential and commercial waste. It has been determined from many investigations that low levels of pharmaceuticals are being discharged into the environment from the effluent of these WWTPs .Recently discovered sources of high pharmaceutical input to the environment are WWTPs that receive influent from pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities (PMF) and hospitals .Following parameters may study
1. Determining pollutants of concern (POCs) C
2. Collecting and analyzing data C
3. Calculating maximum allowable headworks loadings (MAHLs) for each POC C
4. Designating and implementing local limits C
5. Performing local limits reviews and re-evaluations C
6. Developing local limits to address concerns about collection systems

Article Pre-Treatment of Hospital Wastewater by Coagulation-Floccula...
There is no commercial blank matrix for wastewater. All wastewaters have different characteristics and depends on the wastes to be removed. Therefore, the best way to approach your issue is to know what pollutants are affecting your effluent and establish a compliance plan. That will include coagulation, pH adjustments, jar testing, pumps capacity evaluation, retention time, and all the parameters considered in a waste water treatment plant design.
As Baboo said before, the hospital wastes in WWTP is a common problem in the world. Because not only hospitals discard pharmaceutical products, also from residential and commercial wastes.
Check the links provided with information from WHO and a publication about your question regarding the waste treatment from hospital facilities.
