Probably the Arduino platform allows several sensors of this type at around 5 $. A compuetr, as in http://www.elechouse.com/elechouse/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=&products_id=2233 and to get start with the platform that is open source, https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/HomePage
Thank you for your prompt response. The matter is that such sensor is not rugged enough. In the past, I used some vemco sensors for water temperature. I look for something similar but for salinity.
Any conductivty probe, possibly with temperature sensor could meet the platform, but power supply, remote control and waterproof housing require either a skilled engineering or expensive equipment, possibly Pasco if available hag got an intermediate range of sensors
