Usually, the difficulty of Sternberg task is manipulated through increase in the number of items to be memorized and recalled over a larger list. Can these changes be transformed into information quantity (in bit) as in Hick-Hyman and Fitts' tasks?
Hi Jean-Jacques ! I'm not sure if I understand your question, but in the Stenberg's task, you measure the speed for a correct answer. Thus it gives a measure of scanning speed in working memory. If you transform the datas, it may give you the amount of information scanned in a certain amount of time (e.g. units/seconds). Am I wrong ?
Hi Philippe, I just would like to transform the classic mean to increase task difficulty into bits. Then, the effcienciy function will represent the amount of information processed by unit of time. It could be compared to Hick and Fitts tasks.
