In my opinion, for the short or even the medium run, renewable energy technologies will not have great contributions to the total power generated worldwide. A way from the optimistic numbers reveals from time to time, evidences show that, at the end, governments are relying on dependable energy rather than testing new technologies. The increasing requests to build new nuclear power stations consider a sign where we are going.

However, I strongly believe that research will increasingly continue in the field of renewable and clean energy because at the end the demand to find new power resources is driving the research, still no breaking through is expected in the short term to convenience the decision makers to extensively adopt it.
