A break for a researcher can serve as a creative fuel. No researcher (rather no human being)is designed to work constantly and consistently. S(he) needs a break not only to break the monotony, but also to get refreshed for a spirited zeal towards the next phases to continue. Festivals create the situation to meet peers and friends and to pass a pleasant time joyfully.Taking breaks in festive occasions in the mental work of a researcher in a lab is equally helpful, and can be a great boost to his/her productivity as well.
It's a kind of unplugging....stepping outside in open air.....taking some breathe....and recharging oneself.....
Impressive quarry. Yes I think breaking up from work for a while and spending joyful times and relaxation with family and friends, is helpful to maintain a fresh back to do more hard work

agree with you that it helps researchers focus on their research because they represent an opportunity to change the atmosphere and comfort after a long period of stressful work .
For every individuals festivals create & environment for joy & pleasure both within our home & also in our social surrounding where we observe all the person in happy , & gay mood .Even in festival environment professional personnel & the member of staff carry out their performance with inner silent pleasure which may help them to perform the action in a very satisfaction of their action .
We do not wish to omit research personnel as we have started their morning with the family in a happy environment & afterward when they come to research program including their working in their laboratory they may also carry out their action even with their colleague in a happy mood .

Conducting research almost invariably involves works requiring a lot of concentration and stress. Indubitably, festivals can offer a welcome break from the stresses of the task helping researchers to feel refreshed because they find a chance to clear their heads and think about something other than research.
Festival breaks are critical junctions of the calendar, they have come to mark a turn in the creative flow with writers and researchers utilizing the time to unwind, reassess and recalibrate for greater productivity.
Do you think festival breaks help in motivating and invigorating the researchers for enhancing concentration on research work?
Think this might work for some researchers and might not work for other researchers. E.g. in Malaysia whereby it is a multi-racial & multi-cultural countries that when a festival is celebrating by certain group of researchers, they might take a break to re-charge so that they can enhance their research further after the festive season. However at the same time, for those researchers who are not really celebrating the festival, they might take the same public holiday break to continue their research.
In India, there are holidays this week for few days to celebrate Diwali - a Festival of Lights. This will help in invigorating and re-energising the people as also Academicians and researchers.
