I am currently using "traditional" paper lab books. Is this still to date? Did digital lab books improved your research efficiency? And what about "good laboratory practice" regarding long-term archiving?

Use traditional paper lab book, as main evidence of yours experiments. The digital lab book could improve the efficiency in the lab, and most of the time are very useful for bioinformatic work, but the evidence to protect your work will be better in paper, as a legal evidence of any discovery or advance in science.

In your later career, you may be prohibited from using e-notebooks and/or required to use hard copies.
