I prefer to write an article because by writing an article, we can write or register an small step that we make in the world of science and increase the level of knowledge in the world . We can increase the level of awareness and provide the best ideas for future researche.
Decades ago, when writing my thesis, I decided to write a monograph in the belief that this would look considerably more coherent when presented to future employers than the more commonplace thesis (comprised of a summary bound with the papers published in conjunction with the work presented in the thesis). My feeling is that this is not only a matter of the eventual usage of the material – the intended readership and the relative importance of professional recognition – but also a matter of writing style and personality. My closest colleague flicks through books to identify the sections of greatest relevance, whereas I tend to start at the beginning and plod through each sentence until I eventually reach the end, often rereading sections several times. This procedure is mirrored in my writing – I prefer to develop ideas slowly and methodically, which is better suited to the freer writing style of a monograph. There is no doubt in my mind that the advantage of being a native English-speaker is an important factor here – were I obliged to write in French or Swedish, I would be obliged to opt for the most condensed version, and would therefore favour articles!
A series of articles enables one to put new research periodically for scientific dissemination as opposed to a single monograph that may take longer time and would have lost its overall impact by the time it is published.
A book. If little finance then e-book. It is easier to publish, more info to put in, no restrictions from Editors, good cover, library presentations, presents, can be meant in u CV, more rights for uself, u photo on backcover, acknowledgment to collegues, etc.
