Specifically, we are interested in obtaining feathers from Eurasian reed warblers (Acrocephalus scirpaceus), African reed warblers (A. baeticatus) or marsh warblers (A. palustris).
This would enable Keith A. Hobson and me to ground-truth the stable isotopic (C, N, H) clusters identified by Hobson et al. (2012, Ecosphere) and improve the assignments of the birds to their African wintering grounds.

Contact Prof. Przemyslaw Busse (SEEN or Gdansk University), as he had previously camps in the Ethiopia. I have ringed in Egypt for years, and perhaps in January I will have a day or two for ringing again. However, let me know please if you will find someone as I am curious where and when are ringing. I would be glad if one of my ringed birds woukld be recovered.

Hi Petr, email me ([email protected]). A new ringing station has opened near Johannesburg and it might be a great opportunity to get ringers to sample birds for you. I am currently doing a project on the bird community in Gauteng and looking at D in fetahers in relation to precipitation (not the model values, but actual rainfall D values).
