I have investigated the DemandCaster software description at demandcaster.com. It includes the Base Forecasting and Planning Software Platform, the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) module, and the Production Planning and Scheduling Module. None of them includes an explicit cost planning. So the DemandCaster software is not similar to the Cost Planning Service at res-plan.com. I believe that they can effectively complement each other.
Before you receive your trial instance of the DemandCaster software, you need to upload your company data to their server (http://demandcaster.com/free-sop-software-30-day-trial/) - this is another difference. Client applications of the Cost Planning Service can be downloaded from http://www.res-plan.com/ without uploading any data. All the data stored at our side is your minimal registration data, we do not store any data of users' tasks.
The key feature of the Cost Planning Service is the ability to calculate plans in numerical intervals. Revenues are often unknown in advance, that's why the Service allows to specify minimums and maximums for expected funds and requests by expense items. The planning results are also numerical intervals in general case, and they are clarified step-by-step in the course of the plan implementation.

The DemandCaster software is quite exhaustive, more features and thin server; than your expectations.
Nowhere, you can find a software suiting all the requirements, that is the reason in Software development cycle we customize on the 'Base vanilla" applications.
I have lead the project team in the largest implementation of Oracle Business suite implementation in Uganda 2005-07. In my experience, The "to-be" state of the application needs to be captured clearly and then the implementation can be successful.
Some Oracle ERP solutions are attached! There are also fine resources available. I have liked these solutions but in near future, these solutions applied in many state enterprises in Serbia will be substituted by SAP!

I have not found any available software at s/w market that may be called analogue to On-line Resource Planning Services, as it is really based on unique approach. I do like its flexibility! Good luck my friends!

Certainly, Oracle and SAP ERP systems have a lot of useful functionality. On the other hand, they are expensive, heavy and require customization for each company. The Cost Planning Service is not intended to replace such software. It implements unique and effective algorithm which should be used together with existing possibilities from other systems.
