In my experience, making the access to technoloy-enhanced items for learning (such content in the form of podcasts, screencasts, videoclips..) an essential part of the preparation process for seminars would send a strong message, motivatinal too, on the importance of the use of technology for educational purposes. It may take a bit of time and encouragement on your part to begin with, but eventually it clicks in place.

This means that a change of strategy for teaching could lead the students to engage more purposefully with technology. Just google "Flipping the classroom" for some ideas.

First of all, congrats for your great work! I'm reading your papers and they are very helpful for me.

The use of new techs of information and communication is often problematic in school's everyday life. I frequently see some students surfing in FB within class period. Even outside classroom I see groups of students (sometimes 10 or more) in absolute silence, chatting with someone else through smartphones! I usually stop in front of them, look to their faces and say "nice talk!".

But despite the problem seems to be the same everywhere I'm not sure about a single solution. I believe the solution requires a "fine tune" which depends on the local context of each school.

So, maybe, you shoud think in a "customized questionnaire" instead of a "standard questionnaire" to map the critical points in your reality.

I'm doing such investigation through the use of Moodle platform, which I use to survey students and build tools to try to enhance their learning potential. Social networks inside school are still a challenge for me, which I intend to "immerse" soon.

In my paper (in portuguese) "Observação do letramento no ensino superior" I show part of my strategies to use NTIC inside school.
