Dear Dr. Kulvincer Singh: The pharmaceutical industry and scientists around the world have invested heavily into NF-kB inhibitors, but such compounds have not been successfully developed as they also block the many important NF-kB pathwasy in healthy cells causing serious side effects. Recently, the Imperial College researchers took a different approach, looking for target genes downstream of NF-kB (GADD45β/MKK7) responsible for its role in cancer specifically (Cell paper)
A spin-out company, Kesios Therapeutics, was formed to commercialize DTP3 and other drug candidates based on Professor Franzoso's research, with support from Imperial Innovations, a technology commercialization.
