Actually we are starting a research project with an international academic and industry partner network funded by the European Commission in the Horizon H2020 MSCA RISE program.
The title of the project is "SME 4.0 - INDUSTRY 4.0 FOR SMEs".
In this project we are analyzing in a first phase the actual state of the art and specific requirements of SMEs to introduce Industry 4.0 in their company. It would be helpful if someone could provide good examples of practical applications or related literature references.
I have a machinery company partner. I work with them as manager consultant. It is a Hungarian SME. The automation business and the new trends open up a new opportunity in the market. This SME has grown three times as much within 4 years. The main scope of their productions was the automobile industry, but now they have started to negotiate a partnership contract with a Danish robotic company, to set up and sell universal robots, in this area. I think the industry 4.0 result this challenge, and maybe it means the future.
