We are reviewing studies that have estimated the impact of pesticides on pests, natural enemies and non-target species using semi-field methods, to be submitted to the Annual Review of Entomology

These include:

• Artificially assembled systems (test subjects collected from the field)

• Terrestrial model ecosystems

• Field cages or enclosures

• Field-plot or RCB design

• Split-fields (or half-fields)

The review will focus on mobile invertebrates. Between-plot movement of individuals is one of the main criticisms of small-plot studies, yet little effort has been made to understand how this constraint influences impact ratings.
